RRB ALP 2020 will be conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) to select the eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot and technician categories in Indian Railways. Interested candidates can apply for the exam by filling the application form for the same. The board will most probably release the application form in the 1st week of February 2020.
The exam will undergo different phases- CBT-I, CBT-II, Computer-based aptitude test and document verification. Here candidates will be allotted a computer system to mark the answer to the questions displayed on their computer screen. Candidates will get 1 hour to finish CBT phase-I and 2 hours 30 minutes for CBT Phase-II. Marks will be deducted in case the candidates select the incorrect answer.
RRB ALP is a national level recruitment drive to fill about 23801 vacancies for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technicians in Indian Railways. The recruitment drive will be organized and managed by one of the 21 Regional Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) for all the regions
First stage of CBT
• Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -25%.
•Will consist of multiple-choice objective type questions: in 15 languages (Hindi, English, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu)
•There will be negative Marking as for every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted.
Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for second stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of ALP and Technician Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in First Stage CBT.

PART-B

Computer Based Aptitiude Test (for Candidates who have opted for ALP)
• The candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.
• There shall be no negative marking in Computer Based AT.
• The ALP merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the Part A of Second Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in Computer Based AT
Document Verification
TECHNICIAN POST
Based on the performance of candidates in Part Aof the Second Stage CBT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT
ALP POST
Based on the performance of candidates in both Part A of the Second Stage CBT and Computer Based AT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT.
Academic Qualification
For Assistant Loco Pilot (ALPs):
Candidates should have passed matriculation and completed course Act Apprenticeship Industrial Training Institute approved by NCVT or SCVT in the respective trade.
Those who have a diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Automobile Engineering recognized by the AICTE are also eligible for the exam
For Grade III Technician:
Aspirants should have qualified matriculation exam and completed course Act Apprenticeship/ ITI approved by NCVT or SCVT in the required trade.
Those who have qualified 10+2 School Certificate Examination / Higher Secondary Certificate/ Intermediate Examination with Physics and Mathematics.
Candidates who have a 3- year diploma in Engineering in Electrical/ Telecommunication/ Communication/ Information science/ Computer Technology approved by the AICTE are also eligible
Age Limit
The lower age limit is 18 years and the upper age limit is 30 years. Age relaxation will be applicable for reserved categories as given below

RRB ALP 2020 Syllabus
The syllabus of RRB ALP 2020 examination is segregated into 6 sections respectively and candidates must have completed ITI approved by NCVT / SCVT OR B.Tech. except CSE & Civil branches or Diploma. The syllabus decided by Railway Recruitment Board of Indian Railways, needs to be understood accurately by candidates to score good and get to work as Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician Grade III with the Indian Railway Recruitment Board.
